A couple of months ago I put a shout out up on Facebook for a rider to be sponsored by Frog and Field. I was overwhelmed with applications and had to make a very tough decision. Josh stood out to me because of his comprehensive application. The inclusion of pictures in the application and also an established Facebook page. I had also been told, by more than one person, that he was one to watch. No pressure Josh!

In addition to this I wanted to support someone up and coming. A rider at the beginning of their career but someone who was out and about. Brand Ambassador is a more suitable title for the role I needed Josh to play. This was going to be mutually beneficial arrangement. Josh was the recipient of my Silver Photography Subscription Package. This means he will get photographs regularly, at least 4 times a year and a graphic product.

What do I get out of it? As Josh is out competing in branded saddlecloths this will mean the company name will get seen. I also have a willing model for testing some new settings or equipment. The best part though is that I can create a bond with a rider who loves what he does. Josh is fantastic to work with, currently he is swamped with Regional Prep. However, by the time this is published it should all have calmed down! As I wrote this he had qualified all of the horse he rode for the Nationals, one with a score of over 80%. Everything crossed for the National now!

Being without a horse means I do miss the bustle of competing and this way I have an interest in a rider and can follow both him and the horses. So far the arrangement has gone really well, so much so that I will be looking for a jumping/cross country individual this summer.

About Josh Hill Brand Ambassador

Josh is a 20-year-old young rider from Surrey. His family are incredibly supportive and between him and his parents he has a number of horses at home. Josh was also a Young Professional Award Finalist 2015. In addition to his riding and training he has been twice Regional Title holder and four times Reserve BD National Champion. Josh is also based at Angley Stud where he rides Don Cara M for Rowland. Final Highlight is another ride of his. Finn is a young horse with a hopefully bright future. As well as these two he also competes his own and the horses based at his home for training.
